Pet therapy has been shown to have numerous positive effects on mental health, particularly in environments that support recovery. Interacting with animals like Jonnie can help reduce feelings of anxiety and depression, promote emotional well-being, and foster a sense of calm and companionship. Clients at S&A have the chance to spend quality time with Jonnie, engaging in activities such as grooming, feeding, and simply enjoying his presence. Teddy

Pet Therapy specialist 

A Bit About Me

Meet our newest volunteer, Teddy, a charming Chow Chow who will be joining us for pet therapy sessions every week. Teddy is not only adorable but also embodies many wonderful characteristics that make him an excellent companion for our clients. Known for their loyalty, intelligence, and gentle nature, Chow Chows have a unique personality that can provide comfort and support, especially for individuals with mental health challenges, learning disabilities, and autism.

 

Teddy’s fluffy coat and distinctive blue-black tongue add to his adorable appearance, but it’s his calm demeanor and affectionate spirit that truly set him apart. He loves being around people and is particularly good at providing a serene presence, which can be incredibly beneficial for those who may need a little extra support. Teddy is up to date for all his vaccinations.
